Preparing for the JEE is a long and tedious process. If you start in class 11, you have two long and hard years in front of you. In such a scenario, it is natural for momentum to slow down and morale to drop. Not letting this morale drop become long-lasting is key to outscoring the competition. It can happen to the best of us. How we deal with it is what defines our character.

How to keep yourself motivated throughout the 2 year long preparation? How not to let your morale drop? Read on and find out.

  • Positivity is all you need.

“The fool didn’t know it was impossible, so he did it.”

Surround yourself with people who make you motivated to achieve your goals, who realize your potential, and do their best to infuse positive thoughts into the air. The presence of positivity can do wonders for your mental health while preparing for the JEE. Knowing the success stories of JEE toppers, and drawing inspiration from them is an insane method to boost morale, and push yourself even further.

Humans have a tendency to become like the people that we interact with. So, why not use this to your advantage?

  • Reward yourself.

Completed a tough chapter in mathematics? Watch an episode of your favourite TV series. Got through a gruelling, long study session? Why not go out for a bit? Small rewards are what keep you motivated throughout the preparation process. They help rejuvenate your mood, and uplift your spirits. What’s better than having your favourite pizza after a long study session?

These small rewards are what keep you motivated, they give you something to work towards in the short run, and help you stay focused on the task.

  • Learn from the mistakes of others, and not only your own.

Frankly speaking, you do not have the room to make every mistake possible in JEE preparation in just 2 years, do you? Therefore, it is best to learn from the mistakes of others, in addition to your own. This will give you immense opportunities to learn from experience, and know what to do and what not to do during the preparation. In turn, it will help you keep your spirits up, since you now know what not to do, without suffering the consequences of it!

  • Summarising…

Keeping morale high during the 2 years of JEE preparation can be a tricky job. Thankfully, there are some simple tricks to make sure that your spirits remain high, and you keep working towards your goal. Positivity and its power are underrated. Rewarding yourself is, too, in some respects. Learning from the mistakes of others? That’s something we can get behind now, can’t we?

      Hello Akash,
The best way to stay positive during your preparation is to trust in yourself, stay confident and spend time with people who motivate you rather than creating unnecessary stress. Avoid the company of people who keep talking about the competition, difficulty level of the exam etc. as it will only create pressure on you.
