There are only a few weeks to go before AIIMS 2019. What does a candidate do in these final weeks? What revision schedule is to be followed? What must be done, and what must be avoided at all costs? There are hundreds of questions giving AIIMS aspirants sleepless nights. We give you the lowdown on all the do’s and don’ts that you should be following 2 weeks before the exam, hoping that you will benefit a lot and score higher.
Proper rest and relaxation is a must
Health is wealth, and it comes first and foremost. You need to be healthy both physically and mentally when you appear for an exam, therefore, take care of yourself. A healthy diet, proper exercise, and a regular sleep schedule are what make you healthy.
Do not study for long stretches. Take a ten-minute break after studying for an hour, and use this to relax. Proper rest and relaxation are important to ensure that your mind is able to absorb whatever you throw at it.
Don’t trouble yourself with new concepts
In the last two weeks before the exam, it is important for you to strengthen what you already know. Trying to learn new concepts will make your brain work in a confused and haphazard manner, with all the extra information in such a short space of time making it difficult to be processed.
It is better to get more marks by not making mistakes with what you know, instead of attempting to scrimmage with newer topics.
Employ a strategic approach to revision and practice
Revision by practice is the best approach to follow during the last few days before the AIIMS 2019. For instance, solve 45 questions of physics and chemistry in the time frame of the real exam, and similarly for biology, solve 90 questions within the time limit that you plan on spending on that section. This helps you manage time efficiently and also lets you know if you are running slow on a particular section or not.
Mock tests are your best friends
Taking one mock test daily in these last few days is a must. They help you get accustomed to the test environment, assist you in learning questions and concepts important from the exam point of view, and aid you in managing time. As AIIMS is conducted in the computer-based test (CBT) format, taking online mock tests is a good technique to get ready for the real-life environment.
However, appearing for a mock test is simply not enough. Analysis of your performance is crucial for mock tests to be of any benefit to you. Once you appear for a test, take an hour or two to analyse your performance, figure out your weak points, and work on them as much as you can. If you have been practising well over these last few months, your weak areas should be few and far between.
AIIMS 2019 might be one of the most competitive examinations in the country, but with proper preparation, it can be aced, for sure. Following these last-minute tips that we just gave you will definitely give you an upper hand above the competition, that’s for sure! All the best!
