Indian Cricket Team’s captain – this is not a position that came to Virat Kohli so easily. He has worked his way up to earn it with proven dedication. From a kid who used to play in the local cricket teams to the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli today is one of the best batsmen known for his dependable and impressive batting style. Today he is an inspiration for the aspiring youth that wants to become successful like him.

His career as a cricketer has not always been so bright, but still, he proved that he cannot be kept out of discipline irrespective of the results at the end of the day. This is one of the most important lessons aspiring students can learn from Virat Kohli to achieve their goals of becoming engineers or doctors.

Not just this, there are many other things related to Virat Kohli’s life that can motivate you to dream big and achieve your goal. Here are five life lessons you can learn from the life of the Indian cricket team’s run machine.

Find your calling

Every person is good at something; for Virat Kohli, it was cricket, for you, it might be something else. Like him, you also need to find your calling and start working in the direction of fulfilling your dreams.

Love what you do

Have you ever seen Virat playing on the field? Whenever he is batting, it is clearly visible from the body language that he enjoys each minute on the field. Once you start enjoying what you do, success won’t be able to stay away from you. Even if you are preparing for highly competitive exams like NEET or JEE, make sure you don’t take it as a burden or a pressure. Just enjoy every minute of your journey.

Commitment, dedication and passion

During his debut Ranji season, Virat Kohli lost his father. But he knew that his team needed him the next day and he chose cricket over his father’s last rituals. His father always wanted him to be a successful cricketer and as a mark of respect, instead of going home, he played and helped his team win the match. From this incident, it is clearly visible that he is one of the biggest examples of commitment, dedication and passion, which you can learn from him.

Work on your weaknesses

Be it his eating habits, workout or training to improve his batting, he always works on his weaknesses to become the best version of himself. From a chubby boy to a supremely fit and agile athlete, he has come a long way by working on his weaknesses. To follow his passion for cricket, he gave up on his favourite food without any complaints.

In his own words, “Never at any point did I feel like missing a training session. I was very keen on improving as a cricketer and as an international player.”

Self-discipline and practice

Be it cover drive, square cut, pull or hook, Virat Kohli has mastered all the batting shots. He made it possible with his self-discipline and endless hours of practice. He has proved that with regular practice and self-discipline, nothing is impossible.

“I always dreamt of holding the bat and winning games for India. That was my inspiration to take up cricket.” ― Virat Kohli

So, what’s your inspiration? Find it, follow it and get ready to realize your dreams.
