As NEET 2020 is just a few months away, search on ‘how to secure the top rank in NEET’ has already started. In this article, we aim to help you to secure a better rank in NEET with these five fantastic tips.

Focus:

NEET includes three sections in the exam – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. It is essential to understand the way the marks are divided. Out of 180 questions, 90 are from Biology, and 45 are from Physics and Chemistry each. Remember, every correct answer would help you score four marks, and for every incorrect answer, you lose one mark. There is no penalty if a question is not attempted. Start with NCERT books, write down all the essential formulas and notes. Focus on subjects, which need more time and attention.

Planning:

It is crucial to set up a daily timetable and follow it religiously. Give more time to the subjects you are weaker in and try to take the help of your teachers and friends to understand the topic. We strongly recommend you to read the latest news, as this enables students to answer the general knowledge and aptitude section confidently. Ensure you prepare a realistic timetable with some extra days. It helps you to cover up in case of a personal issue or medical emergency. Dedicate as many hours as you can but do not overdo and kill yourself.

Revise:

Revision is must once you have finished your syllabus. A good revision includes solving previous papers, going through your weaker concepts, and memorizing all the formulas. You must be able to give the answers to any question in a matter of a few seconds. The more you revise, the better you perform.

Solve previous years’ papers:

To secure a good rank, solve older question papers. It would help you to know where you stand and revise the concepts in which you scored less. Mark all the hard questions you come across while solving previous year question papers, so you can quickly go through them again during your revisions. Set a timer and get the feel of the entrance exam to gain confidence for the D-day

Mock tests:

Mock tests will help you realize how well you have prepared for NEET 2020. The exercise lets you know about your strengths and weakness. It is a reality check of the preparation. Regularly taking them helps you write your exam faster and secure you a better rank. Further, online mock tests with detailed performance analysis help you get a better understanding of the exam pattern and plan your strategies for the exam day.

While we wish these tips help you gain a high score in NEET 2020, we also want you to take care of yourself while preparing for your medical entrance exam. Eating a proper diet and sleeping at least six hours, will help your mind and body to work well. A little meditation every day enables your brain to remember the concepts you study. We wish you good luck with your exams!
